This past weekend, my family and I went on a tour of the
Lakewood Brewery located out in Garland. They're a local brewery probably most-known for (in our family anyway) the
Temptress. It was a really good time!

Lakewood Temptress..delicious when barrel aged! |
For $10, you get a nice glass and 4 samples, and they even had some of their fancy stuff to try, like their
Lion's Share (which my husband got to try...it had a cool pink color do it) and
Antigoon's Revenge (no longer in production...deep cut!)

They also had a local food truck. This week's selection was
YimYam. We had the Fire Balls, one rice bowl with the brisket, and the pork tacos. All of it was delicious.

Doors open at 12 pm, and there's an informal tour starting at 1:30 pm. We didn't stay for the tour since our daughter was getting a little bit fussy, but it looked really impressive. It seemed like a bigger operation than Franconia in McKinney.

Also, you can volunteer to help out during the tours. It seemed that the volunteers got a couple of samples as well. :) It was a great way to spend a Saturday, and of course a great way to support local brewing!
